Build the web, block by block

status TBD

The first title in the strand. A child marks up their own pages in HTML, styles them in CSS, and puts them online at a real address they can send to a friend. What they have at the end is not a folder of exercises but a small connected site of several pages in one style, built from start to finish by themselves.

The work begins in an online trainer, where the result appears at once, and moves in stages to a real code editor on the child's own computer. Support falls away as it does: first the child studies a worked example, then completes one that has been started, then builds a project from nothing at the end of each block. The AI assistant is there throughout — it explains and it asks questions, and it does not hand over the answer.

Web Lab

Web Lab runs to four titles, from a first web page to a working application. A child begins in an online trainer and moves in stages to a real code editor; every block ends with work published at a real address. Along the way a child learns to look at the digital world as someone who builds it, not only as someone who uses it.
